Hi everyone,

I just wanted to get some other opinions on whether I am expecting too much from my tiler. I think that too much grout has been used as the grout looks uneven to me. I haven’t paid the tiler yet but am disappointed in the work and wondered if others would be happy with the work? Please let me have your thoughts!

Thanks!

He's done a poor job of washing it off but it's nothing that can't be sorted. It would have been a lot easier to do it right before it dried though! That internal corner should be siliconed and not grouted too

Thanks for your replies :) I am sure others have had much worse, just wanted to see if I am being unreasonable before mentioning it. Anyone know how you’d remove excess grout?

deffo been rushed, iI'd be inclined to wanting it raked out and regrouted

Thanks - it’s like this on all 4 walls, some look underfilled and others look overfilled to the point there is no gap between the tiles.

Ask him to take it out and re grout it and use a matching colour silicone in internal corners.

that to me looks like a wide joint grout rake out and re grout with a 2 to 5 mm grout,
will give a smoother neater finish. who supplied the grout you or the tiler

Thanks - the tiler supplied it. He has come round today and agreed it is poor work and says it will be easy to fix by scraping some out with a Stanley knife or paint scraper? He says he will try and find time next week to come back and do this - he also wants paying in full now but I only want to do a part payment until the work is finished to a standard I’m happy with- or is that unreasonable?
