Hi everyone im new to this page, looking for a bit of advice on a training course which I have seen. It is a 12 week course gaining an sqa level 6 in tiling costing £6000 ( which my current employer is funding as im being made redundant within the next year) im wondering if that qualification has any credibility? When I was younger I was an apprentice tiler but unfortunitly got laid off at the start of my 4th year due to the company going down the tubes , I tried for a year to try and finish my apprenticeship but I had no luck so I started working where I work now and but I am looking to get back into it any advice would be great cheers

Welcome to the forum Barry:)
I’m not familiar with the Sottish vocational qualification but if you intend to steer towards commercial work then national qualifications can only be a good thing especialy if you ever decided to apply for a role within a commercial tiling company or to work abroad. They aren’t necessary for private work. If your employer is footing the bill then grab the chance with both hands.

Probably a good idea to see if that qualifies you for a cscs ( construction skills certification scheme )card or Scottish equivalent of .
