Saw that af200 when I went into ctd, what trowel do you use with it? Going to give isomax a try for the stone. Seen it on pro tiler tools for a decent price. Can’t work with rapid in summer though personally haha. Schlüter don’t recommend an s2 for ditra? Would have thought it would be even better when laying over ply.
You have to use what’s known as a B1 or 2 x 6mm V notch trowel.

Semi rapids are ideal then

What’s the issue you have with slowest on stone ?
Problems can arise with the time it takes for the adhesive to dry, the moisture can pull through and present as dark spots, which may or may not disappear.
Although I never use rapid set unless technical reasons dictate, and I’ve never used a rapid in limestone.
But I’ve probably just been fortunate.

Which Isomat are you considering?
They have two S2’s?

Best to call us on 01530 813396 and ask to speak to the technical department, as we'd like to understand more about the application to recommend what to use above and below DITRA 25.

Hi Guys.
Tiling a floor next week over a suspended timber subfloor. I'm first putting Ditra down with an S2 Adhesive over the ply, then tiling a limestone floor. Whats you're opinions on using Mapei Adesilex p9 ontop of the ditra to stick the stone?

Firstly sorry for the delayed response!

Ditra normally recommend and S1 adhesive to bond their matting down. Mapei Keraquick would be suitable for bonding the Ditra.

As they are bonding to plywood please ensure this meets the British Standard requirements of being a minimum of 15mm thick and screw fixed at max 300 x 300mm centres .

Mapei Adesilex P 9 is not suitable for Natural Stone we would recommend Mapei Keraquick incorporating Mapei Latex Plus.

If you need anything further or in the future our Technical Services Team are now available 7am-7pm, Monday to Friday on 0121 508 6970.

You'd be surprised to see the amount Adhesive Manufacturers that advertise on their bags that their slowset is suitable for Stone

Is keraquick and latex plus suitable on top of ditra? That's s2 is it not?
Can @Schlüter-Systems Ltd clear this up please

I know as much information as is available in this thread. If you could clarify whether an s2 adhesive is suitable on top of ditra in any situation that would be appreciated.
Thanks

There's questions we need to ask in relation to the substrate as to clarify the correct adhesive to use to bond the DITRA. At the same time we can answer the questions on the suitability of the adhesive to fix the stone above DITRA.

We appreciate you'd like an answer in the thread, however it is much better to speak to the technical team, alternatively email us your contact details to [email protected] and I'll get your area sales consultant to call you.
