    Tiler mistakes - Advice required

I would second this, although I’d say the majority of tilers now price in meters. Most of the people old enough to price in yards that I ever worked with would probably be retired now.

Grout Kerakoll fugabella colour. Anyone have experience with long term performance?

Does anyone have experience of this grout in the long term? I have used it a couple of times and for usability it is very good. Just wondering how close the stain resistance of this is compared to actual epoxy? I Have a customer who wants epoxy to prevent discolouring in the long term but I may...

    Limestone floor haze

hi Bob, thanks for the reply. I did speak with Lithofin technical department and they told me after looking at pictures that it was most likely etching in the stone but they didn’t mention the stain stop whitening issue at all. The sealer wasn’t fresh on the stone, it had been on there over 24...

    Limestone floor haze

I was going to call Lithofin technical department tomorrow when they're open and see if they can suggest a solution. 1604869692 The cement away wasn't on there for long at all, just a quick scrub then cleaned straight off so hoping its not gone deep into the stone

    Limestone floor haze

I know now but I wasn't aware at the time. I used Lithofin Cement Away diluted to roughly 10:1. I have used it before on slate and as I don't do too much stone work just assumed it would be fine on all stone which is obviously my mistake and naive on my part. I have spoken to a stone fixer...

    Limestone floor haze

Hi, I did a limestone floor for a customer which I washed and sealed, then grouted 24 hours later. A week later I went back to apply another coat of sealer. The floor was mostly clean but had a few dried up droplets of grout water. I made the mistake of using an acid cleaner to wash the tiles...

Which tile adhesive did you use most during 2018

Can you minus vote? It’s a minus 1 for nicobond for me. I also use a variety of adhesive for different situations so can’t pick a favourite brand overall really. Same with grout.

    Sigma repairs south east

Yes, same thing. Small nick on the bar so the scribing handle gets stuck. Will definitely try this, hopefully it works.

    Sigma repairs south east

Hi, I have a sigma and the bar that the wheel runs along has been caught and it is stopping the handle for the cutting wheel from running at all along the bar. Does anyone know of a place in the south east, preferably near Maidstone, that could maybe repair something like this? Failing that, a...

Has anyone used or had experience of Ardex EG8 Plus? does it have the same performance as normal epoxy grout regarding not staining and is it really as easy to apply and clean off as cement grouts?

    Adhesive for fire surround

Hi, Just wondering if I should use a heat resistant adhesive for tiling a fire place feature wall. It isn't an open fire, just a fitted gas fire that doesn't make the surround too hot. If I do use a heat resistant adhesive just as a belt and braces solution, which ones are the best for fixing...

Grout Best Grout sealer to prevent staining/discolouration

I am not wondering why it discolours, I know that it happens, I was just wondering what product may be best to keep the tiles and grout looking their best as long as possible. Grey grout is an option but it just won't look as good. This is obviously a choice I will have to make. I also find...

Grout Best Grout sealer to prevent staining/discolouration

Want to avoid epoxy really, hate that stuff and it's probably a bit over kill. I will have a look for that sealer you mentioned. Is universal the brand name? Do you have a link at all? Thanks.

Grout Best Grout sealer to prevent staining/discolouration

Hi, I am putting wood effect tiles down which are porcelain (porcelanosa Chelsea bone to be specific) which are quite light in colour and will probably have a relatively light beige colour grout to match. Was looking for some advice on which sealer was best to prevent staining of grout and to...
