Has the hardie speck changed about laying on a flat timber floor ? Didn’t we just used to screw the boards to a flat timber surface? But use adhesive to fill in voids on surfaces like floorboards , i could swear that was how it was done a few years ago

You should go online and download the hardie instalation guide as to how it should be fixed . I really wouldn't worry about waterproofing the floor .
