Hi Poynton Phil, looks like quite a big job that judging by the photos.

Be patient with the right tiler as it is quite specialised.

It is the time thing.... everyone appears to be busy.

This looks like a rip out because of the movement of the floor. or at least some trimming of the tiles due to less space with the rising of the tiles.

Is it just the centre section that looks loose/debonded?

We just had a record hot summer for 40 yrs. I'd suspect thermal expansion, if no water involved. Maybe Lack of movement joint around the perimeter. If it can't move outwards, it just blow's up in the middle. So does it rise up in the middle like a wave, or is it still flat? Be a shame to loose such a unique floor eitherway!

Maybe owner trying to clean up to sell? Put water down on the clay tiles and they expanded debonding from the https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/?

Hi Phil, hope you are well. This looks like typical tenting caused by lateral movement (expansion) a perimeter joint is paramount with this type of tile. as the joints need to be tight to allow the module to work.

Sorry but I think a rip out is the only way forward.
