I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here 2020

Everytime I've been to Wales it's rained. I wouldn't have thought they would be sleeping outside (but you never know). I think it will end up being more like a Bear Grylls survival course but I'll be watching it anyway.

    Spiked rollers.

Some SLC's don't like spiked rollers. One that comes to mind is BAL Level Max. It has fibres in it and they don't like to be spiked. So check the instructions on your levelling compound.

    Cutting tiles with beveled edge

I agree with Dave. Some of these tiles are very fragile. Too much pressure and they break where you don't want them to break. Try practicing on the broken bits.

Can I recover from this unbelievable mistake

Confused.com. How about a picture taken with a camera. Your diagram was more confusing than your description!

    Hallway Tiling advice please

Sam, just a little bit more advice: Of course some customers try and save money by doing the prep themselves. However, lets say in a few weeks/months time a tile cracks or a bit of grout comes out. Whos fault is it? Was the prep done correctly? were all the boards screwed down? Were there...

    Hallway Tiling advice please

I personally use BAL FLEX ONE, but you can use any powered adhesive. The adhesive is really there to fill the voids over floorboards. The boards are then screwed (I use about 15 screws). A very important thing to remember is that the boards have to be taped with fiba tape. This bonds the boards...

    Aus Laying 10mm tile

Some of the independent tile shops will usually have a trader that only lays wooden or laminate flooring. These guys can normally make a door threshold to your exact requirements. Look at paying £50+ for this. However, if you are handy you can pop down to Homebase and buy some profiled lengths...

    Hallway Tiling advice please

Question is: Will you still be able to open your front door will all that extra height? I would have gone for Hardibacker or Bal boards (both 6mm). As Dave says 'less height'.

    Back Skimming

You want to cover the back of the tile with the smooth side of your trowel. The adhesive will seal in any dust you may have on the tile. It will also cover all the indents on the back of the tile and it will give you an extra 1mm (or more) adhesive to form a good bond with the adhesive on the...

Retrofit wet ufh under existing floor.

Been to a house this week. The owner wants a tiling quote to tile the ground floor of a house with 60x60 porcelain tiles over screeded wet ufh. The problem I have is that the 80sqm of ground floor consists of 8 rooms mostly over floorboards and a kitchen over a concrete floor. The owner is...

    Preparing tiles for silicone

Now I know all the facts. You have a matt finish porcelain tile. Your tiler has cut the bottom row of tiles to fit around your shower (normal practice). Believe me, you do not need to seal the cut underneath of the tile. The sealer will not be absorbed by your tile as porcelain is virtually...

    Preparing tiles for silicone

Ahh, this does make a difference. Just buy a quality silicone. It does not have to be a solvent free one. I've just noticed I called the silicone a 'sealer' in my previous post. I meant silicone. Only some porcelain tiles need sealing. Some are pre sealed or nano sealed. It is normal to...
