Blunt Tool

I have a wide variety of diamond blades by different manufacturers, it’s trial and error, one blade chips one tile but then cuts clean on another. I always try blades on an off cut to find the one with best results.

Do you cut with a wet sponge ? :)

No, I have never tried, although I have seen it done. In UK and Ireland I have always been able to hire an overhead wet saw, and even then I have bought my own blades because the ones supplied didnt always cut without chips. I haven’t found one for hire here.
I don’t think it is technique as I have managed to grind and cut with fixed speed machines and Bosch blades before without chipping. Just not having much luck with the one blade I have at the moment and thought I’d ask for reccomendations from those with more experience.

I still have the page open on my desktop. Found it looking through earlier posts yesterday.

I found the old Bosch blade order on Amazon. Two 125mm blades, one construction and one tile for £17. Maybe I should try that one too. Worked before.

This is the only piece not already placed, and it is the offcut. It was probably one of the first cuts so the blade was not bedded in.
I'm afraid I am used to using a stationary wet saw.

Montolit are one of the best I’ve used. Montolit CGX

I still use the Chinese blades though. They work really well and are a fraction of the cost of Montolit.

I’ve had the same Montolit blade in one grinder for 8 months. I really rate the blade.
