Received these although only 100mm, I need a smaller backer can anyone advise if a soft one or hard one is best with these pads IMG_20181231_153006.jpg

Ultimately it depends on what you're doing with them. In general:-

Hard rubber or aluminium backer for flat surfaces or convex surfaces/edges.

The only reason to have a flexible or semi flexible backer is if you need the pads to form to a concave shape or curve.

Sponge (soft) type backers are more appropriate for paper discs, it gives them a little suspension and reduces the chance of tearing.

Topps are doing Rubi flexi buckets and any trowel for £12 at the moment.
And the bucket has a pouring spout! More handy than you might think especially on slc.

good deal on bucket and trowel

asked how much a bag of white S1 would cost me and nearly fell over when they said ... And they wonder why I don't use them.

Yeah, had to purchase a bag of their own flexi rapid as had no TM Ultimate left, nearly cried!
