First job I ever got off the forum was about 7 or 8 years ago. Was a main bathroom that was leaking and failing and a WC. Spin on 3 years and I had very little work on and I was struggling financially. In a stroke of good fortune the clients contacted me again for 2 more ensuites, a WC and a huge area of ground floor tile in their extension. Went round several times to measure up and offer advice and got a price together. Then I got a very apologetic voicemail telling me he didn't know the price for the building work included the tile and he wouldn't be using me. Couldn't have happened at a worse time and I really struggled over the following weeks and months.
Now I'm back there to redo the 2 ensuites he had done and another ensuite in an attic conversion that's about to be finished. Oh and the big floor is failing in places too! The house is huge and stunning, totally unrecognisable from when I was first there. They told me the only 2 rooms they haven't touched are the ones I did all those years ago and they still look mint - I can't pretend I wasn't feeling smug.
I've just finished the first of the ensuites (got final fix to do once decorators been) and number 2 is ripped out and first fix almost complete.

6 foot 6 inches usually s0 1800 - 2000mm seems about right. I don't think I've actually ever measured it out - just put it about 6 inches above my head! If the customer isn't average height then I will check they're okay with it before first fixing :p

If you’re ever in doubt about shower fixings then get hold of the Hansgrohe book. It tells you the height of absolutely everything. It’s ridiculously specific.

Edit:it comes free with all ibox’s

Ah yes i've seen such a booklet.

I'm never in doubt of height, its normally what Macten does but on my last bathroom I set the height of the fixed head and got my two pipes out of wall and later on in the project I made the decision the tray would have to go on legs due to waste route so I lost about 150mm. Luckily I had positioned the head right far up and it worked out fine but there is nothing worse than finding out at the 11th hour the pipes are two high or low.

I made that mistake in 2009 never again!

Been there too!

I put fixed head arm outlet 3 inches from ceiling, last day of job putting shower together realised the arm had a 4 inch drop :(.

Hole cut in ceiling, filled and painted after got me over that one.
