Hi , I’m just about to finish my level 2 tiling , I’m 17, turning 18 in January and am now looking to gain some experience in this industry, I’m finding it very hard to find labouring work with no experience, does anyone know any companies around Manchester that may take inexperienced tilers on. TIA

Hi and welcome to the forum Bradley.
Look up a company called Pro-Tilers U.K. they’re from Lytham St Anne’s and speak to Mr Waggie.
I have absolutely no idea if he’s looking or even if he would be interested in taking you on, however, I do know he is very busy for the next coming 12 months and if you can convince him you’re worth a shot, it will be the best phone call you ever make in forwarding your career.
He runs a strong team of highly skilled fixers who work throughout Europe and is strictly very high end.
He’s not a forum member, so mentioning us here won’t help and whilst we are colleagues and speak on a regular basis, he does not know my username here, so you’re completely on your own.
Go see what you’re made of,
Good luck.

Ok well I’ve just spoken to Mr Waggie on another matter and mentioned you at same time.
He said to call him, he’s interested in what you can offer him.
So don’t hang about, give the guy a call.
Good luck.

Well if you get an opportunity to start with him you’ll be one of the most envied apprentices in the country.
There’s very few of us that do this type of work, and it’s not for everyone, and it’s not unusual for experienced tilers to offer us their time free of charge, just for the experience.
So if an offer is made, grab it with both hands, and do not let go!
Hope it works out for you Bradley.

Thank you all for your support and in particular 3_fall, I am doing a 2 week trial for pro-tilers uk after the bank holiday with a view to it being a permanent apprenticeship, I literally can’t wait
Brilliant Bradley, that’s excellent news, really pleased for you.
Shows what a bit of determination and planning can do for you.
I did speak with Steve last night actually and he mentioned what was going to happen.
Thank you for keeping us up to date.
