what's your thoughts? Went to do a repair on a quartz floor with UFH to help someone out and found this Look at the pics, showed the customer that the tiles were all buckled like bananas but still had to lay them as he had no more,Now he's complaining that they are not very flush ? Had told him that the rest of the floor is boss and some tiles are curling before proceeding?

Tile Shop

Theres only one quartz i know of thats guaranteed for ufh and thats the stuff from Esha Stone (94%, 12mm). But its limited to 150w only and must be encased in 10mm slc before tiling and limited to 27C on the stat. But even then i have my doubts.

Don't know what quartz that is but looks like the cable would have been touching the base of the tile. Any quick repair job is highly likely to go the same way unless its all ripped up and started again. But would be a safer option to go with a mirror flecked granite.

Time's Ran Out

Imho your not going to get any replaced tile down to the same level as existing floor.
In this case I'd just leave it to him to get the original 'tiler' back who did an incorrect job in the first place - wires not fully encased, wrong tile for UFH and wrong adhesive - always going to fail!

Walk away!

Wish I had haha,But was helping out a friend ! Yes cables were touching the back of some of the tiles and they had black marks on the underside!!! I did a test with these tiles when I first saw them years ago,Set fire to one with a blowtorch and it took 15 seconds to spew black stinking smoke from it so would never ever sell them......
