Looks fine, dont be afriad to chop the bottoms off archatrive and tuck the tile under for a neater finish and also a nice threshold strip under the door.

There is nothing negative about any thing I've stated but if you only want encouragement your not in the real world!
You are morally wrong for charging for work you have no experience in undertaking, and it's your type of mistakes which give my trade of 44 years a bad name.
In the 8 years I've been adding to this forum yours is in the top 10 of posts that defy logic.
If this were in the DIY section you get my advice, but you take a picture of the floor, tile it, then come and ask!
Just to add - the only knob in this thread is you for conning a homeowner out of their hard earned cash.
If you really don't want to let them down - give them their money back!

Thanks to the lads replying who weren't knobs about it and actually took time to help.

Ok so I've ignored a few minor swear words as you're new and clearly concerned about a possible mistake.
This is an open forum and accessible to anyone, so bad language and the like is not tolerated, and it'd also be appreciated, if you would remarks like that above were kept to yourself.
You know which bit I mean.

This is a forum with many personalities, and you'll always get differing opinions, and everyone is allowed to voice them unless they are abusive.
So if someone posts something you don't like, ignore it. They'll always be other posts you'll find helpful.
And if you think someone is out of line, there is a report icon at the bottom of the post, use it.

If that happens, the world will be a much happier place, and I won't have to waste my time doing this.

Good luck,
and enjoy. :)

Not after encouragement at all, read the posts and you'll see and trust me I haven't conned anyone just might of made a mistake. Look at most peoples replies and you'll see they are quite helpful you were just abrupt and as for your 44 years of experience and people like me giving your trade a bad name well I have the right to change my career in something I enjoy doing whether old boys like yourself like it or not. As for being a con man after ten years in the forces trust me loyalty to people is a big quality of mine and if the customer contacts me anytime in the future I'll happily pay for the whole job to be re done, I'll even pay you to do it you could then call me a con man then to my face and not behind a forum. We're all men here mate and if you act abruptly with me and try and be a smart a@&e with comments like "what concerns me is not knowing difference between ply and chipboard" well straight away you come at me with an attitude, instead of saying something like "the way an experienced Tiler would spot the difference is ".... etc, but straight away you've thought 44 years in the business and look at this idiot. Don't comment to me anymore please mate, not interested in your opinion. Have a good day

Apologies mate, just rather the experienced veterans were helpful if they're going to comment rather than try and ridicule me. I was thinking of knocking the tile on the head but timeless john has made me think it's worth sticking out and one day when I've got years experience under my belt I could actually be of some use in advising someone who is worried about a job. Apologies again.
