Hi Guys,

I need help!! Basically I employed a cowboy and now there is a problem I can't contact him!

I had my floor tiled (over 200sqm) prior to turning the under floor heating on. Now the heating has been on and off for over a month the tiles sound hollow when I walk over them! I feel they will crack in time and I haven't moved in yet so need a quick solution!! Will i need to take all the tiles up? It's not all of them just 3/4.

Thanks in advance.

Mapei adhesives do something called epojet . I am told this can be injected under tiles to stick them down and fill the voids . You should call Mapei technical and speak to them about it .

what was the screed?
what are the tiles?
was an uncoupling membrane used?
how was the heating commissioned?

IMO there is no way to sort out properly unless rip out and start again,maybe with some experienced tiler who know what need to do.
Every time when I feel your pain I think at attitude like this;

''I did receive your quote however it was higher than others I have received unfortunately. thank you for your time''
Check references,check previous job,check all you can before you hire someone,especially in big jobs!

The screed was a liquid thermio screed. And the tiles were ceramic. Not sure on the membrane? What does it look like?
Heating was turned up 5 degrees at a time and turned down the same

possible bad prep to screed before tile.
do you know what prep was done and what https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ was used?
sadly, as has been said, probably all up
