Hi all i am looking for some advice on the best https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ to use on a floor which has a water fed underfloor heating system.
The total area is 150m but this is divided into 4 separate areas so is not one big area.

Customer has been advised to use a 2 part https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ but I am wondering if this is absolutely necessary? Any advice much appreciated.

Is it a screed floor? As long as you use uncoupling mat a cement based flexible https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ is fine.

the system is laid into some kind of pre-moulded blocks and I was wondering whether these would therefore eliminate the matting? If not any advice on the cheapest place to buy the matting as i've just had a quote of £1500 for 150m.

Thanks you

After the pipe work was laid did they lay a screed over them?

No matter what you will need uncoupling mat, too much movement in stone with heat, I buy 30 metre rolls from my local CTD for £200 is there one near you?

yes I use CTD also....thank you. Would you say screeding prior to matting is absolutely necessary? Usual scenario where the money is running out towards the end of the job but I just want to make sure its right.

Never seen this pre formed block thing so if you think they are stable enough prime and cement based flexi https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/ matting down, if not slc then matting

It's probably hardebacker board with the grooves in for pipework hence the look of preformed blocks ..use the 2 part https://www.tilersforums.com/forums/tile-adhesive/

I would do some propper research into this there has been numerous threads on how to tile onto these polly pipe type floors, i don't believe it's as simple as lay a mat and tile it. Are the tiles thick, 20mm?

I have tiled straight onto polypipe boards with single part flex - no comebacks yet and this was 18 months or so ago but for stone, I would seek further advice about some kind of fracture mat.

I fixed 600x600 travertine onto polypipe overlay board over 10 years ago in my brothers house not a single hairline crack to be seen so it is possible but its about belts and braces now too many failures cover your back
Good luck
