Default Tile Layout Software

I want to share with you this new software aimed at tile setting

I have used this tile layout software for a while now and found it a really great help.

Whenever I go to price a job, I take accurate measurements of the tile project and then do all of the tiling on the computer in a relaxed environment. At the end, I print out the drawing and knowing exactly where to start I save myself time. I can foresee any possible pitfalls and with a mouse click I can expand or shrink the tile joint for a better fit.

I think that many of you will find it usefull. There are 2 versions, standard and pro version. Very easy to use and also suitable for d.i.y. /ers.

As I do not know if I am alowed to put the web site link here, check my profile.

They have come out with the Pro version not long ago and I find it very useful as I can experiment with different settings and tile patterns. Obviously is not for everyone though and for a straight one wall tiling there is no need for the software.

I have tried a couple more. TileGem is one and the other... Easycad?
I have found that tilegem was very limited compered with precicion tile. Easycad... well, also limited and crashing every few minutes. I started using precision tile standard version but now I plunged in to the pro version and so far has been great as I can build my own object library, snap to objects and use the in-built quote generator. I rather spend the time in my office, in a relaxed environment than spending more time on the job setting up.

I talked to a guy 2 years ago in Expotile about some software like this. Does this one deal with highs and lows and walls running in and out as a matter of interest?

You can draw anything you like and any shape you like using basic tools, then choose the [?] icon and select "tile". The area you just drawn is now a tiled area.

Choose any tile pattern you would like, rotate the tiles in any direction, change the tile sizes as required, set any grout size, choose actual photo of tile.

then draw any obstructions ie: non tiled sections.

Using the [+] icon now you can grab the tile drawing and move the tiles in any directions you like until you find the best layout.

If for exsample you end up having a small cut in an area, you might find that by enlarging or srink the grout joints by 0.5 - 1 mm you avoid cuts and the job will look better also. Hope this helps.

The beauty of this software is that most people can use it and you do not need 1 year training in CAD design.
