ive got a ts50+ and i could do with a bit of info on why there are so many different size of scoring wheels. which wheels should i be using for which tiles. does it depend on the thickness or the type of tile. cheers.

i have the same cutter 6mm for small wall tiles 10mm for floor tiles as a general rule i believe

Correct Raja mate, there is also a gold wheel in both sizes for scoring porcelain.....Gaz

OK that seems fairly easy to remember so whats the point of all the other size's. its a bit like the trowel i use 6mm for wall 10mm for floor but so many different size's thanks for your help

Ive got the same cutrter, just done a 38 Msq kitchen floor with large porcellin tiles, now i know this may sound odd but i found the 10mm wheel werent doing the business on the tiles and I was breaking a lot of them so I decided to try the 6mm wheel and then breaking the tiles with a really fast action and I found this worked a real treat no broken tiles.
Maybe I was doing something wrong with the 10mm wheel but it worked out fine in the end.

You are right as has been posted on here before, it is generally the 6m for walls and the 10mm for floors but changing them around can give great results, there is no hard and fast rule, some cutters like the Montolit only have 1 wheel (they have diff sizes but take much longer to swap), so try which fits best for your job.

to say you use 6mm on walls and 10mm on floors has no rational whatsoever.

the tile denotes the cutting wheel not the substrate?

No tiler burben i was on about trowel size there is basic rule for trowel size like Ive now learn there is a basic rule for wheel scoring size. but if i was putting bigger heavy tile on wall i would use a bigger trowel but i do see your point about whatever tile your cutting denotes what wheel to use
