| Re: plasplugs protiler any good for the job? | | It will probaly fine for a while for genral ceramic stuff. You might find it will struggle with porcelain, stone or quarries. £40 though, it is virutally disposable. Use it 'til it doesn't do what you need it to do then get something more appropriate to the task.

| Re: plasplugs protiler any good for the job? | | It will be ok for your normal wall tiles but it will struggle a lot on the heavier floor tiles. The wheels dont last too long and if the machine is still servicable when yo come to replace it, get a Marcrist wheel, cost about £25 for that size wheel. | | |

| Re: plasplugs protiler any good for the job? | | it says it cuts ceramic, quarry, terracotta, slate, marble, frost proof, porcelain, graniteand limestone, and is the protilerplus model, would it be better just to attach a marcrist wheel instead of the one it comes with,or just leave it as it is for now, what other tile cutter would you recommend for most jobs and what prices are they cheers | | |

Not all diamond blades are the same. I have a small cutter called a Bricollina (£120 ish) great wee cutter, unfortunately it has struggled badly on two types of tile that you cutter choice says it will cut. Quarry tiles and 1 particular type of procelain tile. It has cut everything else I have thrown at it. I would not expect anything different from the Plasplugs with standard blade.

| Re: plasplugs protiler any good for the job? | | I think there has been a large amount of input in the forums on this already, Best thing may be to do a search in the box at the top for "wet cutters" and see what comes up. Everyone has their favourites and will defend them with a passion, just like dry cutters. See what comes up in the posts and then narrow down your choice to what you think is best within your budget.

DEN | I have one and for standard ceramic domestic jobs it's a great little cutter for the money, and the motors still going strong, though it's a noisey cutter, compared to the near silent Master Tiler I also use.

| Re: plasplugs protiler any good for the job? | | I had one for the first few months but I got the Master Tiler and it has a much quieter, more powerful induction motor. Also has a larger wheel.
The protiler will serve you well, but if you find yourself cutting a lot of porcelain, i'd recommend the Master Tiler (£70-£80)- the speed increase will save you money quickly!
