curved silicone nozzles
hi there.
i was on a site today and the window fitter was siliconeing in a window. he had curved nozzles on the cartrige. he said he found them in the van but cant remember where thaey came out of.
have an of you seen them around. maybe they came with a brand of silicone etc. some thimes they come with different nozzles. h=these looked like small bananas and were disposable like the normal ones.
thanks

Re: curved silicone nozzles
never seen them but i'm sure if you put a blow torch to a straight one you can shape it however you want

Re: curved silicone nozzles
might try that.
his were curved 60-70 degrees. very handy in tight spots.

Re: curved silicone nozzles
not really what i was talking about . his were like the normal ones but curved.
iv got a set of those from trade tiler. should come in handy.
i was trying to keep them for really aquard places.
he said there was a a load of them in there but they have used them. i dont think they came on a tube but were probably bought seperatly.
i might try putting a bit of small hose on the end of a normal nozzel . that should be easy to get into aquard places

Re: curved silicone nozzles
Everbuild used to do them as standard but they've reverted back to the straight ones from my supplier. However I've still got a few left unused. cos they will always come in handy
The results of quality work last longer than the shock of the price

Try a site that specialises in window stuff. Might be something more tailored to that trade?

Re: curved silicone nozzles
I drop mine into boiling water and then bend to whatever shape.......works for me behind those taps fitted tooo close to the wall by the local dimwit plumber.

Re: curved silicone nozzles
With the amount of joints with the nozzle I would think cleaning them out would be difficult...or impossible.

Re: curved silicone nozzles
If stuck, I just bend the nozzle in the middle, be careful as a bit of silicone will scoot out. You have to hold it to keep it bent but it will still work

is that proper job your day job or a shop / site. 1£ for 4 is cheap. the trade tiler ones are 5£for 3. that will get dear fast. especialy on day work jobs as you cant allow in these sort of things

Then it might be cheaper to clean them

Re: curved silicone nozzles
i wonder if you could get a can of something to squirt in there to wash it out. like the gun cleaner for expanding PU foam

Re: curved silicone nozzles
Just cheaper to add the price to a job than trying to clean it up...

Re: curved silicone nozzles
i tryed the boling water today. it allowed the nozzle to be bent maybe 30 degrees. handy for some situations but not a 70 degree.
