    Default fein or bosch?

well my bosch had to go and get a fault fixed this week, typical when I needed to rake out 4 bathrooms for a re-grout in some holiday homes, so I borrowed my brother in laws fein,,,,result?..fein wins hands down imo. Better balanced and more "guts", my b-i-l doesn't use it much so I think I'll make him an offer for it.

good idea doug, just tell him if he needs to borrow it he can, everyones a winner then if i had £200 to spare i'd go for the fein but at £60 my bosch is money well spent.

I've had the same two fein's for over 4 years now and never had a problem with either and they've had some punishment in that time.......

the blades are generally more expensive for the fein but but now some blades are universal or you can buy an adapter for the fein which enables it to take bosch blades

I've got the 10.8v Li-Ion Bosch. Only use it for chopping the bottom of architraves and it does the job OK. It would be useless on re-grouts though unless I had around 50 batteries!!!!

I got some shark blades off ebay a few weeks ago after someone recommended them on here (Neale I think) and to be fair they have been spot on

same as mine, so maybe it's not a true comparison, ie corded and cordless, but I couldn't agree more with regards to regrout jobs

Got the blue Bosch corded GOP250. Same power as the Fein and worked out about £120 for the spec I wanted rather than £200. Used to have the green Bosch and the blue is much more capable. Not sure how it would compare to the Fein performance wise.

I like and have Bosch power tools but everyone I know that bought a Bosch multi tool wished they'd bought a Fein so I listened and bought a Fein, and now the patent has run out blades are cheap as chips, here a Fein diamond blade is over 100 quid, but a cheap shop called Biltema do them for a fiver, obviously don't last as long but for removing tiles on repair jobs it's O.K, it wouldn't remove grout from a whole bathroom but I've never had to do that anyway (yet, must be a long boring process...)

I talked to my Mrs about the fein for 6 months prior to christmas. And what do you know, i got iton one condition i stop talking to her about it. Its bloody great. Thanks to the person on here who mentioned the universal blade bit. Great money saving tip! If you buy a Fein, make sure you register it online for the 3 year warranty
