Default Paddle mixers - again (sand cement render)

I know paddle mixers are regularly asked about and after using drills for a while i've used a couple of different paddle mixers for the last few years, i'm soon going to be rendering my own extension and i'm looking for a mixer that will cope with sand and cement render is it just a case of a bigger wattage the better?

If your rendering what about hiring a small mixer not the paddle type..
