Re: grout mixing tool
I've got an 18v Ryobi drill that I use and a couple of small but very sturdy paddles that I found at a car boot sale for £1 each, bargain!

Re: grout mixing tool
I mix mine by hand with a bucket trowel.

Re: grout mixing tool
is it not supposed to be better for the grout if mixed with a paddle?

I've got a complete tool for mixing.....
It's my apprentice...lol and he uses a drill or a bucket trowel.
Created on iPhone.....

Re: grout mixing tool
is it not taking things a bit to far getting your drill and paddle out to mix a bit of grout, whats wrong with the good old fashioned trowel, the most important bit of machinery in my tool box for sure

I normally just stick a marigold on and do it by hand! The grouts that need a double mix, I do mix with a paddle.

Re: grout mixing tool
Would only mix standard wj by hand. but the paddle is usualy handy anyway & 9 times out of 10 the grout is flexi.
Wouldnt dream of mixing Mapei ucp by hand.

Bri most of the guys I have seen mix it with a trowel don't make a great job IMO if I mix a small amount I use a piece of 2x1 but most of the time we use one of these Picture 23 of 26 from pete as it large amounts or sand and cement

I'm with ya.. very small amount of none flexi WJ by hand but always mix poly modified with mixer.. you have to , to make sure the polymers/colourants are fully mixed.

Re: grout mixing tool
I was always told mixing with a paddle puts too much air into the grout, so I mix it with some 2x1.
