Wet cutting ring saw at The Stone Show
WHile at the stone show yesterday, I came across these machines being demo'd on, granite, procelain, ceramics, quarries, slate and marble, and a thick brown wine bottle. The two machines demo'd are the bottom two on the home page - Gemini Saw Company Europe -the grey one being called "Revolution XT" and the red one "Apollo Ring Saw", they can both cut very tight radius curves through all the above, but my only reservations are, that you would be limited by the size tile you could do that with, and the prices are high for these machines at the moment - £1718 + vat for the Revolution XT and £1120 + vat for the Apollo - and these are show prices
, I'm guessing they're going to have to sell a lot of them before the price comes down to an acceptable level. Anyway, I thought I would update you all, as I'm sure equivalents will spring up soon enough a lot cheaper.

Yeah, I think Sir Ramic did a thread relating to these????
I watched a guy demo'ing the machines today and they look cool, but I've got to be honest I think I would get it out the van maybe once a year at most.

Re: Wet cutting ring saw at The Stone Show
saw them quite a few years ago when i was living in the US not very popular among tilers due to the cost of the machine and the replacement blades.

Daz, johryan, why would you only get it out occasionally, for the cost and overall all round uses I would flog it to death lol

I wouldn't want to knacker the expensive blade Al. I'd rather use one of my cheaper wet cutters for day to day work.

I know what you mean, but he did say that under 'normal' non aggressive use they last for a long time, I suppose the problem there is their definition of sa long time, or what ever term he used.
