Many thanks to the 5 people who showed up to say hello over the two days of ToolFair Harrogate in Yorkshire.
Just got back from the two days of Thursday and Friday (10th 11th March 2011) and we had a good show.
Thursday was very slow sales (same reported from all exhibitors) but Friday was very busy especially in the afternoon. The peak from 1pm to 3pm. This is probably because those on the tools were working and took an afternoon off to come to the show and spend.
I have been personally looking at ways to stip costs out of attending these shows due to the high rise in petrol. Its now costing me over £100 to get from London to Yorshire and back where as two years ago it was £60 return.
We also had to take the hit on the VAT with a £49.99 kit going back to 20% (from 15% two years ago)
One thing I managed to do to remove £160 is not to have power. I now take a rechargable battery to power our needs.
But the big question was can we survive without the glamour of the gals. I can report that having stripped costs to the bone to attend the general concensus is that the girls were sorely missed !!
Lots of heartache from customers so I think that (for the trade shows only) we may treat ourselves to the assistance of a gal or two!

The loss of help was perhaps a cutback too far.....
To anyone attending the Stone show next week it will be just me.... So sorry about that!

Fair enough! Did really well and it gave a chance to roadtest the compact stand ahead of the Natural Stone show

The new "Compact" stand. Hopefully it will tell the story.
