New tool box
I have been meaning to get a new tool box for a while now and fancied one of these but didnt like the price tag. So I was uprised to see them in Clas Ohlson with about 20% off. I was asking about them when I was told they only had that one (display model) left....I was about to walk away when they said I could have it with another 10% off....Result. Seems quite well made and as long as I resist the temptation to overload it, I think it will last a while.

Like any other toolbox if you were to get silly with weight it would break but so far I am impressed. Time will tell though.

Re: New tool box
does the top section detach?? Be nice if it did so you didn't have to take the whole thing out the van if you didn't need to

Re: New tool box
looks good, ive had a few like that, but found after a while i did start to over fill,it could take the weight no probs, but then you ended up taking so much out just to find a tool at the bottom etc. these days i use open tool holders for hand tools and stack lid boxes for power tools and other stuff all with the aid of a folding sack truck/trolly.find they stack in the van much better.

I've still hot the older version of that in my store that I've had for around five years. Still in one piece, but stopped using it few years ago.

Re: New tool box
Very good looking box, I need one myself. Using a tote at minute and sick of wrestling with it to get something out.

Re: New tool box
I think the choice of tool bag/box is quite a personal thing that has to fit the way you work, where you work, your trade/s, your transport....
That tool box would never suit me but I can see how it would be great for some people. I find multiple open tote bags suits me best

Re: New tool box
I have had a couple of the plastic ones of them and they lasted really well, ZIGZAG ones. I see you are living up to your tool hound label neale!

Re: New tool box
Indeed as some have said, its a personal choice. I have tried almost everything from buckets to cantilever, tool bags and totes. My last box was one of these or very similar but after about 4 years the handle fell off, so time to try something else.

That's the exact same one as mine

Re: New tool box
I have the fat max open tote, its great for 'normal' tools but not good for tiling stuff. I keep mine in a plastic box on a shelf in the van but then i never have to use mine everyday.

Re: New tool box
I recently got a couple of good toolboxes made by stanley. 36 inches long with a remeovable inner top tray and very strong with metal catches. Good thing about them is that they are 12 inches high and have a treaded top so are great for standing on to reach the top rowof tiles. Having two means I can just put a batton between tham to do a wall!! They were in B&Q for £40 each but were on offer at 50% off...bargain.
