Cutter for lots of work!
I've had a quote provisionally agreed to cut and supply a company with approx 1/2 million marble mosaic tiles all about 10mm x 10mm x 5mm thick.
Basically at the moment I'm running cut rods through a Plasplugs Contractor Plus (500 watt, 150mm disc) to get 5mm thick rods and then cutting these into individual pieces with a hammer and hardie.
The problem at the moment is that passing the rods through the saw is fairly slow so....
- Should I get a more powerfull saw (bear in mind I need a saw that doesn't have a gap of more than 4mm between the blade and the top cover)
- Or will the work be faster if I used more expensive diamond blades?
Cheers

Re: Cutter for lots of work!
Yes did have that suggestion but it needs to be a feed through type of cut. I'm not sure plunge cutting will work so well without breaking the rods.
When the blade is depressed what is the gap between the blade and the edge of the top cover?

Re: Cutter for lots of work!
You place the tile on the bed and slide it through the wheel. As for the gap , If you were doing repetitive cuts as you say then make an artificial bed with a kerf 1mm wider than the wheel.
