I was wondering if anyone could recommend a manual tile cutter? My budget is £200-£300. My tutor has recommended a Rubi ts60 though im not sure how he can personally recommend it has he does not own one.

I'm a Rubi man so I would recommend a TX700 instead of a TS60......

Totally agree with Stewart, Rubi all the way. The TX700 is the best all round cutter for ceramics and porcelain. I've got a ts60 and it is a good cutter for ceramics but, for some harder porcelain its really not up to the job. This is only my opinion. Other than Rubi, the only other manual cutter I can give you an opinion on is the big clinker, and for the money it is very good.
TX 700 for me, used to have a TS 60 and hated it!
Thanks for all your recommendations I will be looking into purchasing a Rubi TX 700. I have been learning with a TS 40 which isn't bad for the small tiles, as I have not had to cut any hard tiles like porcelain yet but I would want to buy something to cut all types of tiles.
you could consider the Montolit MasterPiuma 63-P2 it's within you're budget, available from Trade Tiler

here we go i wonder whats next , im saying nowt

I've also heard of a small company called Sigma that's had a go at making cutters, but I think they just copied Montolit.........

I love the rubi ts-50 does majority of tile upto 580mm
I learnt with a ts60, the only make I use. Just bought a ts40 off my mate £30 only been used couple of times. Bargain!

Deffo go for a TX version of the Rubi if you are happy with that style of cutter. Take no notice of all the brand banyer....Its a tilers thing !
At a later date you could add a TS30 to your collection as the TX version are quite heavy for small bathroom etc.
