Which Tile Cutter
Hi Guys
I need some help to find the best tool for cutting 15mm slithers from a standard wall tile.
I've tried my breaker pliers and a tile cutting jig saw blade but have failed miserably.
Is the answer a dry tile cutter or a wet saw?
Kindest regards
Martin.

Re: Which Tile Cutter
depends on your skill level. I can break those size cuts with my fingers after scribing either with a hand scriber or a dry cutter, a wet cutter would do it no problem but shouldnt really be needed on such a tile.

Re: Which Tile Cutter
sigma dry cutter....or just about any wet cutter.......is it a one off job your doing?, if so you could hire one or try your local tile shop, some do a tile cutting service as well

b and q and wickes do cheap wet cutters for diy.If the tiles are less than 30cmx30cm or less they will do the job.

Re: Which Tile Cutter
Hey Guys
Thank you for the quick response.
My skill level would be 1 out of 10 in the tiling arena but would like to get better.
I only need two slithers to replace existing cracked tiles on a worktop.
I don't have any tiling mates but live east of Manchester if anyone could advise.
Kindest Regards
Martin.
PS Great site great advice. Many thanks.

Re: Which Tile Cutter
Dont forget to use epoxy grout if its a work top for food prep

Re: Which Tile Cutter
If you have a means of scoring the tile face, then you could rest a couple of matchsticks vertically along the underside of the the tile, along the score line, and the tile will break cleanly with a small amount of pressure applied to each side. Alternatively, take a trip to your local tile shop and I'm sure they will cut a couple of strips for you
