New Tool Box needed
Hello everyone,
I currently have a big box on wheels with handle etc and mostly use my tool tote which is a pain !
I'm sick of dipping my hand in and hitting saw blades etc.
I need a rough and tough approx 24" heavy duty box with great locking handles like the stanley but with better handles !!
Happy New Year to everyone too

Re: New Tool Box needed
For my tiling tools I use a couple of plastic storage crates. I find trowels struggle to fit in anything with a lid.

Re: New Tool Box needed
I have a rack in the van for holding trowels then throw which ever ones i'm using in the water bucket or something to carry in.
Just a box for all the smaller items i.e screw drivers, chisels, profiler, pencils, chalk line etc.
I don't want to start lugging my big one around again because it fills up quick, lol.

Re: New Tool Box needed
Graham, (plumbers merchant), had an offer on for boxes which were a nice size with good handles. Nice price too at £12+vat so I bought two. Cant complain at the money and far better then the Rolson rubish I had before!

I have a different shelf in my van for different types of tools and take out what I need in a tool carrier, then return it to it's rightful place when I'm finished. I've tried different boxes and methods and find this one works best for me.

Re: New Tool Box needed
Good enough idea Stewart but my van is like a freezer in winter then a shower in the thaw, lol.
Not good for tools sitting out, an insulated tool box would be a god send.lol

Re: New Tool Box needed
I've been looking at toolbox's for a while, at the moment I have my tote bag that carries my smaller kit, then I take in my grinder, trowels, and what ever else needs to be on the job, this can result in 4 trips, just for small hand tools, I was thinking of one of these. Thoughts ???

I thought I'd seen it somewhere, could have been here ??? at £20 I'll have one to try I think, i was thinking trowels and grinder in the bottom, smaller kit such as floats in the middle and scrapers and drivers in the top. And of course, the height makes a nice table for a cuppa lol

Re: New Tool Box needed
The ony issue i have with these kind of boxes is that you tend to overload them, then the boxes break or wheels fall off. A small sack truck ( actually mine is a fishing trolley) with 3 decent tool boxes is my preference at the moment.

Re: New Tool Box needed
Mmmm, must resist the temptation to overload, chances.................................0 lol

Re: New Tool Box needed
Ok, it was garretridge i believe who posted that he got one.
Yes, 20 quid was the price but in the replies someone or a few said these were real bad quality !! now i'v seen this before with stanley boxes.
Its time we had a quality box for proper tradesmen and not DIY'ers !!
I'v even spotted one at £15 in halford but you can imagine the quality there too.
