Re: DEWALT 24000 wet tile cutter
Hey Gooner welcome back ! I have tried to pm you but you need to delete a few messages ,there is some over spray on the dewalt its unavoidable , it helps if you locate it properly on the plastic tray and it helps if you put it on a level floor there is a plastic clip which clamps the supply pipe which slows the water feed which again reduces the overspray but i think i will buy a plastic paddling pool to sit mine in when cutting inside to catch any overspray there may be

Re: DEWALT 24000 wet tile cutter
The only drips I get is when i move the cut tile away from the machine. I have now got into the habit of putting the newly cut wet tile into a gorrilla tub besides the machine.

I do the same Neale. One machine cannot please all users/purchasers..maybe this member should have bought on of the "other makes that do not leak".
I cannot rate my Dewalt 24000 enough... it is the functionality of a machine for me over a small amount of drips... these can be expected also when cutting tiles that over hang the water catch trays...

Re: DEWALT 24000 wet tile cutter
Hi guys...there is a clip on you-tube showing a water catchment cubicle that the Dewalt will sit in to stop overspray. Overspray is collected and fed into a bucket under the machine. Can't remember what it was called but saw it after typing in Dewalt D24000...as I'm planning gettin one before the VAT increase.

Re: DEWALT 24000 wet tile cutter
I have used this saw for a few years and have no such problems.
Solution:
I use a large flat-bottomed plastic tray 4'x5'x10" deep which I bought from an agricultural plastics manufacturer. I place the saw into the tub & I use some small sheets of poly to control the spray.
I place the tub onto cardboard and poly sheet while working indoors.
I have no problems with overspray - ever. I have successfully cut tile for over a week over unfinished walnut plank without spilling a drop onto the wood.
You can adjust the water nozzle closer to the blade rim to reduce the fine mist somewhat.

Re: DEWALT 24000 wet tile cutter
I KNOW THIS MAY SOUND ANCIENT,BUT WHY DON'T YOU JUST PUT A SMALL PLASTIC TARP UNDER YOUR SAW ,THIS ALSO CATCHES ALL MY SALIVATING WHILE i'M CUTTING TILE BECAUSE i LOVE IT SO MUCH,

Re: DEWALT 24000 wet tile cutter
well as i said mine leaks water all over the floor and I'm obviously not the only one!!, as proof all the guys above having to stand there machines in improvised water catchers, perhaps I'll be able to reduce it, but i was disappointed after reading so many positive it dont leak report's on all of the forums!!

Re: DEWALT 24000 wet tile cutter
Hi gooner, when you say its leaking is it more then just the mist spray that you get? is it leaking from the black bung? if so (sorry for stating the obvious) but you can tighten the wing nut once the bung is inserted in the hole and this secures and seals it tightly.

Re: DEWALT 24000 wet tile cutter
If we could have deffo answers to where your cutters leak from.. is it over spray or drips from tile edges that over hang..?.. got to be more precise..

Re: DEWALT 24000 wet tile cutter
I can tell you all that my Sigma 10m leaks mostly when we over fill the water tray but i generally have it set up in garage, outside or in a room with no floor covering.
Work mode does take over and when slabs of marble need cut leaks don't matter much to me as long as cuts are sweet !! lol

Re: DEWALT 24000 wet tile cutter
The only time my cutter will actually leak anything is when I am cutting a big piece that hangs over the left edge or I am cutting a lot and the water runs down my elbows.
That and it does tend to spray out the rear end even with all the black trays attached so I tape a small piece of poly on the rear end of the motor and that stops the spray.
Wet saws are wet that's all there is to it.
I use the tub as it gives me a place to drip the freshly cut pieces and I don't want to spend a lot of extra time being especially careful about water spray, yet I want to keep the clients home protected, so I set up the big tub and have no worries.

Re: DEWALT 24000 wet tile cutter
gooner, any chance of answering the question that have been asked please, "my cutter leaks" doesn't really resolve any issues. I've been thinking about getting a DW 2400 for a few months now, all due to the rave review from trusted and elite members from this forum, yet altho you say its a great cutter, you seem avasive as to why/where it leaks from....as always, we need pics

Re: DEWALT 24000 wet tile cutter
Hey Doug, we have been using our saw for 2 years now and like it a lot....way better than the target we used previous.
The spray issue is easily solved.
The thing doesn't "leak".

along with all the other users on here, yet gooner seems to be having a problem with his, that's why I asked if maybe he could post pics of his set-up, maybe some of you DW users copuld maybe see something that might need tweeking/fine tuning

I think he may just be expecting stellar performance right out of the box, but things rarely work that way.
I found it needs some small tweeking with poly and then it works great.
But DeWalt could make an optional left side catch tray for large pieces as they do leak over the edge of course and a back baffle that actually catches the rear spray would be nice.

Re: DEWALT 24000 wet tile cutter
Well ,now I don't feel so bad,a few years ago when the 2400 came out I couldn't get my hands on one but I needed a new saw so settled on a 7inch Husky, haven't had a leak or a bad cut in almost 2 years, and it was half the price.

Re: DEWALT 24000 wet tile cutter
If you leave the sliding carriage over the end off the tray after doing cutting then you will get water dripping on the floor ?
