    Default Angle finders

Bought a T5 from Trade Tiler the other day, not getting on with it to well for various reasons, anyone got the Rubi version and can give some feedback on it?

Alternatively do people bother? Ive used a mitre gauge for years but thought that one of these dedicated finders might make life a little easier and quicker!

T5 is more for diamond set floors..

I use a sliding bevel to copy and angle or scribe to fit.

Looks a good idea Dave but by the time I had done all that I could have cut the tile twice.

    Not really, To ellaborate....

The rubi has wing nuts fitted rather then the Loc nuts on the T5. If your nuts are to loose, ( ), you lose the angle. Pinch them up and the damn thing becomes a pita to use.

Also it dosent allow for the joint thickness. I use 5mm spacers for the floor so if you remove the spacer to 'lock' the finder against the two adjacent tiles your effectively cutting to large. Put the spacer back in and the found angle can be wrong due to the finder not being against the tile. I tried to get around this by using spacers but all in all a little bit of a faff!

SO the question was sorta loaded at tose that have experience of the Rubi as it 'looks' to be a better tool, albeit at twice the cost!!

Ermmm its a lot simplier but still suffers with the grout line width dependent on the width of the metal on the rubi. I found that it was making the cut too large , so I glued a small strip of aluminium to the frame which gave me a perfect size and included a 1mm gap to the wall...does that make sense ? Its easy when you see it working. The Rubi only does one angle at a time though.

T5 is the same in that respect, one angle at a time. As for the strip idea, yup, makes perfect sense! To be honest I was going to get the Rubi but was talked out of it by the guy on the phone!
