I really love my new cross laser level and its pole. Makes setting out so so so much easier.

The cord on the Fein is far too long. It take me longer to put the thing in the box than to use it...i may change my mind on this being the best thing

Re: what's been your best buy 2010?
Dewalt D24000 no doubt thought the lazer pole I intend on buying may be up there too
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it!!

I use a length of that metal shelf racking stuff Dave, just screw it into a wall and you can position it (your laser level) at any height you want.

Shorten the lead ?????
My best buy, tool wise, has been an average year, but my laptop, that's special ( I know, sad )

Re: what's been your best buy 2010?
First thought was my D24000 but it has to be my new compressor to power my pneumatic nailer ( for fixing ply for Karndean/Amtico). It's about half the weight and size of my old one, more powerful and quieter. Between them I can fix an 8x4 sheet every 5" in about 2 minutes.
Outside of tools the odd bunch of flowers for the missus is a great investment towards my sex life

Haven't bought many tools this year, but the best bit of kit has to be my Rhino instant canopy. Great for this time if year, when the weather turns.

I used to sell those at shows and exhibitions.
Bloody glad I don't any more. Some shows were county shows, cold and rainy! Hard to show how they work when you're not willing to put it down
