Default look what happened to my new dewalt D24000

Hi Everyone, look what happened to my new Dewalt today, only had it about a week

I was cutting a L shape cut, as you know it doesn't cut the last few mm of the cut due to the radius of the blade so the cut piece stays attached to the tile (usually), I then lifted the tile out the cutter turning to the right and the square fell out the tile and fell down onto the right hand drip tray, which sits on the tab in the picture....and broke it off,

I thought a Dewalt would be stronger than this especially for the price! ,
so be carefull when you use Dewalt...........so it doesn't end up like mine

it was a 10mm 500 x 500 porcelain and the cut out was only about 200 x 200 so not that hefty really

I have been wondering lately if DeWalt has dumbed these saws down since they first developed them. I have one of the original models, and the price has come down so much that I wonder if DW has cut quality standards to meet the lower pricing.

its the opposite here rob, they have gone up in price...too much imo..£599-00p all inc was the right price for this saw...its now £750-00p which is too high for what it essentially does and is...dont get me wrong, i rate but its hard to take a £150 increase for the sake of it but thats the uk for you mate..

Here they had gotten as high as $1250, and now they can be found for $850. I have a hard time believing that the increase in sales is the only reason for such a substantial drop in price.

Getting back onto topic these kind of damage is not ( as far as I am aware) typical of this machine. I am sure Tradetiler has sold 100`s and how many have had this happen ?

I don't know about the D24000 but certain other product like vacuum cleaners are 'dumbed down' when supplied to discount outlets like Argos. So a 'Henry' for example could be the genuine article at your local Hoover shop but the same model at Argos will be of a lower quality made to suite the lower price.
