Nice
I think Kev has one of those
I just got a Raimondi trowel with the gel handle and it's really nice to use![]()

The Raimondi floats are better for epoxy in my opinion Dave,I havent found a better groat float than the Masrshalltown ones and B&Q sell them for £8.99 down here , the slant trowels look top notch if you pardon the pun

I know gary but i go through about 6 floats or more a year each.. so thats 12 floats..LOL.. and at a tenner or so a time it is annoying to say the least.. it is stone work that knacks them..
I am sure it is the Raimondi green pads that are the hard epoxy ones..

Joe ( hillhead) uses the Raimondi ones and loves em.. and at a good price they are worth a go.

i love my slant trowel;s and my black ramondi grout float;s

I've got the identical Raimondi float pictured, and I absolutely love it, dead easy to clean, always still looks like new, rubber hardier than it looks, and really pleasant to use, even on relatively small mosaic work, wouldn't use another one now. You'll love it...![]()

Sound..![]()
oh, and because it's soft but strong using the edges wisely you can really get a gorgeous finish on mosaics... much rougher than you will be used to usually, as I mainly use the direct method with different thickness glass and porcelain chips etc, yes I am very happy with it...![]()

I don't know wether I'd be able to get used to a slanted trowel, do you still tip it at an angle like normal trowels?

i was disappointed with the Raimondi washboy and it was very expensive,it would be nice to know how the groat floats work out![]()

I love the raimondi floats,
I use that one you have there for walls mostly Dave and this one for floors, they last really well too.

Also Gary,i didn't like the raimondi washboy either(tray sits too high in it so water needs to near top)
Even their trowels are not bad![]()

I have the raimondi grout floats and find them top notch, won't use anything else.....
Bought one of the trowels as well and find them very good.

Nice one..

I have been using those very same those very same grout floats for a long while and love them.
The trowel eats the adhesive but its very good at getting a good bed down. Time will tell how long it lasts though.

I will do...
The thing is with the marshal floats or any other soft core rubber floats is the face starts to peel away from the core quite quickly with heavy use and large floors etc..
So my thinking is the more solid one piece like the Raimondi ones will last a lot longer.. just depends how long they keep the edge.. but i have ordered 2 floats and 4 spare rubbers..
Over the years i have tried loads of different ones.. even the hard rubber compound epoxy floats but they are hard on the wrists.. so anyway. i will let you lot know how we get on with them..and the trowel..![]()

i used the slant ridge trowel on a couple of jobs last week they give great coverage but found they use a fair bit more adhesive than the normal 10 mm floor trowel but couldnt fault them!

Just ordered online Kev....
What colour is the raimondi epoxy float? lookign at buying some gear today.
Kwik Split have a great deal on the washboy / lash clips / trowel and a grout float
i've been using the slant trowels for few weeks now. i will never go back. very good handle.i don't use them on walls though. i use a platinum trowel for that, as uses a lot less adhesive than the slant trowels.
as for ramondi washboys. i got a big pedlo washboy, to be honest it's the worst thing i've ever bought. it never gets enough water out! the only good thing about it is the big hand held sweepex float you get with it, now i use this all the time. it has changeable floats, so i have 1 for grey, 1 white and 1 for black grout,
Coolio, so a slanted 10mm for the floor and a normal 10mm for the wall. A 'U' shaped one I assume?
Thanks mate
Will be epoxy grouting the whole bathroom so kinda thought a washboy would be an essential thing to get
wont be used after Ive doen the bathroom so I guess I need a decent one so I can probably resell it on after ive used it!
any reccomendations?
