Default Montolit Masterpuima 75 - Struggling to cut

Hello all, I have recently bought a Montolit Masterpuima 75 (from tradetiler, great service) but i'm having difficulty cutting my tiles.

I am cutting 12mm thick glazed porcelain tiles, and when I score & snap, the cut is not as clean as I would like it to be, and leaves tiny chips on the both surfaces of the cut tiles.

Is there something Im doing wrong? Do I need to score with more pressure or snap with a sharp strike? The Montolit video makes it look so easy, and the cuts seem very uniform.

    Regards

I would say not too much preasure, as little as possible (much less than with a Rubi).

So, a quick light score and as you say a sharp strike.

Hello David, you're spot on! All it needs is a light score and a sharp strike, cuts beautifully now....

    Thanks for the advice, regards

sometimes a double tap in quick succession works best,,,

if the tile was porcelain, id give a little 1 inch back score, then score all the way through, and then tap tap (not very hard either).

use the flip down breaker on diagonal cuts for the bet cuts...
