Hi Guys
i am considering a masterpiuma 63-p2 or 75-p2 cutter and would invite your coments on there use.
i will be sticking with the ts 60 plus and ts30 for ceramics so this addition would be for porcelanato and porcelain and diagonal/coomb cuts
also is the mosaic matt a worthwile addition
i have used kevs rubi tx 700 and struggled to get comfy with the breaker so have rule them out, like wise the husquavana 600 (for sale £60)
Dave i belive you have recentley switched to monti from rubi was the transition painless ?
cheers spanish

Re: montolit master piuma opinions please
I found the transition easy but my son struggled but is ok now..
IMO it wipes the floor with rubi.. sorry to say that after so so many years a rubi man..

Re: montolit master piuma opinions please
I asked Montolit to make a change to Tradetiler's 63P2's as there was one thing that always bugged me....
We had our latest pallet of 63P2 (the ones currently on our site) fitted with a 200mm shorter measuring arm. I always felt the 600mm one was so long it made the machine hard to use in small rooms. Besides you don't need an measuring arm much more than 350/400mm on a 630 mm a machine anyway
Now I've seen the difference it makes the 63 P2 really perfect
Will get some pictrures on the web site ASAP
The larger machines do need the extra lenght though

Re: montolit master piuma opinions please
Got the mp75 about a month ago, to be honest i've struggled a bit with the snapping.
Love the cutter, the way it scores etc but seem to struggle snapping the tile without shattering the edge. Always had rubi but fancied changing to Monti for porcelane.
Any tips would be gratefully received because i'm not ready to give up on it yet.

Re: montolit master piuma opinions please
Have you tried adjusting the breaking stop in the handle and if you get tiles that chip at the cut edge then use the flip down foot.. works every time.. just need to get the knack of how much pressure to apply.

Re: montolit master piuma opinions please
Have tried adjusting foot but need a bit more practice i think. The flip down foot doesnt seem as strong as the other and im worried about breaking it, is that for the more delicate approach? How hard should i hit the handle? Bearing in mind im 6' 2" and 19 st and ive broken a lot of things in my life
Do you hit handle or push?

Re: montolit master piuma opinions please
Biffa you only have to tap it if you have set it right. i've got the 63 ps but with the ever increasing size of tiles i'll be getting the 2 mtr one thats bound to be coming out shortly. LOL

Re: montolit master piuma opinions please
Hi mate...just bought a monti 75P2. What a machine...cut porcelain easily. Having a problem seeing which is the cut edge as its that clean. Switched from double to single rail and found it very easy to adjust. Go on...get one ...you won't regret it!!!
