    Default Rubi Tx1200n tile cutter.

Has anybody had any experience of the TX 1200 N from Rubi???

So far I have got the follwing

    a TS 40

    a TS 60 ( FOR SALE )

    2 x TX 700 N

    2 X TX 900

    I have just priced for a job, 120 sq m of 12mm Porcelain @ 1000mm x 1000mm

I suppose I was just wondering if anybody had experience of cutting these monsters with 1200mm cutters.

I have loads of Rubi cutters, & always buy them for both myself & my guys.

    Any views welcome

But if you have the DeWalt 24000 There is no end to the size of tile you can cut. Sorry Doug, I am still jealous. Nice machine

Used one and it is a case of "jesus" when you get it out of the box, bloody thing is huge. We were cutting 1000mm x 1000mm porcelain on it and just went straight through them with no probs atall. I wouldn't buy one myself because it's so rare it would be used (for me anyway), maybe look to hire if it is just for the one job.

what do you find wrong with it Gary, I remember you saying that you thought it was a waste of £'s a few months ago, but mine scores well and snaps well with the tiles that my tx700 is to small for. My only criticsm is that i prefer a tx rather than a tx.....n I really dont like the extended guuide rail and locking screw on the n versions.

I have the tx 1200 n , from day one it cut 1 mm out of square over 1200mm straight cut ,I have never been impressed with the breaking pressure from the machine and found when cutting diagonal cuts the rails would bend before exerting enough pressure to snap a cut on porcelain tiles thus needing me to break the tiles manually rather than using the machine, then screw locking device for the front guage doesnt lock tight enough therefore the guage slips and i have to place a packer under the screw to lock down the ruler guage tight enough for acuratish cuts ,the aluminium cutting guide gauge is weak and has snapped on my machine leaving me with the opinion that a cutter I spent over £600 on when they first came out and only used a dozen - 15 times is poor value for money and of a poor build quality

was it a legit price, ie not a special offer, that you were asking him to match?

The rubi cutter was £40 cheaper than trade tiler`s price and the seller was a buy it now company on ebay all looks legit.

I wouldn`t buy a brand new quality tool off ebay if it did have a fault you would probably never catch up with the seller i was checking to see if,as a loyal customer, they might offer a matching discount.

If anyone is twisting things it`s you. There was a thread on here stating tiletrader would match a price and i found out they couldn`t what`s wrong with pointing out that fact ? I thought joining this site was to discuss opinions and preferences and to help out people looks like newbie`s are not welcome here.
