what are your opinions on the marcrist porcelain wet cutter blades ?

I have one for my DW 250n and it drifts badly.....though it does cut (anything) very easily.

I bought one from toolstation as my old continuos rim blade was getting a bit tired. The description of it made it sound amazing, i was impressed by the money back guarantee, Good job it had it as after one cut it was back in the box to be returned. It did do what it said and cut amazingly quickly, however it chipped the porcelain three times worse than the old blade.
Overall not impressed with it at all. I have got much better results from a new right lines blade.

They cut fast but do chip the cut edge of porcelain tiles IMO

whenever I've used one I, like 'Beam, have found that they chip the glaze.

i have ordered 2 a 300mm and a 350mm should i send them back and wait for the montolit Dna instead in your opinion?
I'd give them a go Gary, if they do chip the glaze you could always use them for stone work![]()

I'm searching for another blade for the porcelain, at present I cut into a scored right angle then just snap the scored lines

its a full bodied gres type porcelain rather than a glazed lappato type porcelain i will be using them on ,at the moment the blades i am using are really wandering badly and i am getting bananna shaped cuts never had this happen so badly before so i thought i would buy new blades

Gary.. the marcrist blades cut fast... but they do wander is over worked and on larger format tile cutting.
IMO the rubi cpc2 is better than the marcrist as i replaced mine with a cpc2..
The DNA blades are good.. i have just switched blades in my Dewalt saw to the Dewalt blade, just to see the difference .. the Dewalt blade is very good and cuts very well..slightly thinner than the DNA so smooth cutting.. all in all the Dewalt blade is good..
250mm...25.4 bore..

1200 x 600 porcelain tiles 12mm thick need straight cuts which blade will be best rubi cpc or the dna ?

Out of the 2.. The DNA is better... eats hard tiles and NO blade wander..

Even my marcrist dry cutting grinder blade jumped out and near took my finger off last week!!! it had 2 cracks in it !! not impressed and i had another one in stock so it's in now too.

I've been using my new D24000 with the standard DeWalt porcelain blade in this week to cut Keope full bodied porcelain.
After day one no probs, although I had noticed corners snipping off the triangles I was cutting, but as I didn't need the corners it didn't bother me. This happened to two out of three cuts.
Yesterday I gave up trying to cut these tiles with my DeWalt D24000 as even the straight cuts were sheering off half way throughas even my TS40+ wouldn't cut these tiles....
I, unfortunately, had to resort to using my grinder and Marcrist CK850 dry cutting wheel, which I must say has flown through these tiles with great ease
I am now considering getting an upgrade to the DeWalt blade although I'm sure it will cut lesser quality porcelain and stone just fine, I want a blade that will cover all bases
Please note this is not a disparaging report of the D24000, more a critique of the density of the Keope tile![]()

How many times do we hear 'it's the tiles'When you've just spent thick end of £700quids on a machine, you blame the tiles

I've fixed these Keope tiles a few times and it is "definately the tiles"!! the riven finish makes it virtually impossible to get a good dry cut so a good blade for the wet cutter is the way. I used a Marcrist on my Rubi DW 250 and it cut them fine but the blade drifts and pings the corner off!!!

They're awful aren't they Grumpy??![]()

They are!! Thankfully I have only ever fixed 300x300 so the blade drift wasn't to big a problem but anything bigger and it would have been!

i know its not te size you want . but just as a note the durator x7 1mm blades from screwfix are good reinforced center good clean cut and dont seem to jump out!! but bore is only in 22mm(230 or 115)

That reminds me to email marcrist about there blades. I used to go through like one a year and now they seem to burn out after every few hundred meters or so. Need to find something to replace it with but dont want to risk spending loads on crap... any suggestions?
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it!!

Aye mate, it's the question mark blade I'm usingKev did you get two blades? if so have you tried the one with the little question mark grooves? I find this better for pocelainI thought both the blades were the same.
Honestly these tiles are probably the hardest porcelain I've ever come acrossBell metal springs to mind....
They were just sheering off half way through a straight cut and I was going ridiculously slowThe TS40+ wouldn't touch them
Ended doing all the cuts with my grinder, CK850 blade and a steel straight edge, no probs at all![]()
