Push the block into the blade 3 or 4 times to open up new diamonds and re-hone the blade... if still not cutting to well then repeat process.

The best way - take a thin slice off the end of the Rubi Sandstone Block in the same way as cutting a sliver off a tile, slowly and with water in the machine. Simply as that !

Sorry guys, the others did not come up on e-mail and I missed them with the page opening only on the last reply. Hence assuming no other replies.
Thanks for the explanation as requested.

I tried this with sandstone and a couple of wet-stones for knife sharpening which needed dressing up. I cant say it was successful.
I guess I shall try the ceramic block and if that fails, install my new Montolit.

It´s OK Dave, it´s a long day for all.
BTW I did get the Monolit, also got the ceramic block and wanted advice on best practice that´s all. If I can salvage my old blade, I hope to use it on ceramic tiles later

Re: Rubi ceramic block.
flatting or re dressing a sharpening stone is a long slow process involving grinding paste and a piece of polished plate glass
I know nothing I havent learnt
