On Wednesday night. And in their feedback section from past guests apparently we get free plastic knives and forks with our free breakfast. But hey I am paying £40 to stay there so I better not get carried away wanting too many freebies..

I went to the tool fair at westpoint in exeter today and met up with buddha nice bloke we arranged to ring each other when we got there as this was the first time we were to meet, anyways the mobile goes i answers and he is stood beside me
Had a chat and we are off around the show, It seemed to be based around electricians there wasnt any tiling tools there at all and was pretty dissapointed. then we met richard and his very pretty assistant she is lovely oops enough of that and a local lass too, stop it

Chatted with richard dureing his quiet period first thing in the morning then watched as he done his demo to the onlookers, he was getting buisier so we dissapeared for a while for another ganders at the stalls. There was some bargains to be had but just not what i was lookng for. any ways me and buddha stuff ourselves with free bacon butties and coffee and then to say buy to richard as we are leaving.
He has pulled in a crowd now and hopefully it got better for him in the afternoon, a quick hand shake and we are off.

It was nice to meet a couple of members from here.

Yes I have to say big dissapointment in the size of the venue for Devon. There are only 1/3 of the exhibitors down here so its a really small show.

In addition the crowds are not there so sales are way down (Usual sales 50 kits in two days and on day one..... 9 kits sold) Arrggggghh.

SO it looks like we will lose money this time.

Its Midnight now so I am off to bed to try and recover some sleep ready to do it all again on Friday when we hope for a bigger crowd. Sorry the event was a bit lack lusture in the actual number of retailers and tools on offer.

Also I toned down the "grid girl" theme and employed a local lass and put her into "normal" workware IE 365drills branded shirt and she wore jeans. No crazy pilots outfits . Shes doing a good job.

I have to agree with comments above about the ToolFair shows though. When i went to the Ricoh stadium in Coventry i found it intersting to look but it was 50% sparky stuff. Even the Dewalt stand was a dissapointment as they had no info on the tile cutter even though they had one there. When I finally got a price from them it was 100`s more than Tradetiler....I later bought it from TT that day while i was over that way.
I did buy some stuff at the Toolfair but I could have got it cheaper online easily but I also like to see what i buy before hand so I am not really complaining.
I really like the idea of these shows but I wish that the traders etc would realise that people expect bargains, afterall some have had to take a day off and travel to the show. Present company excepted Richard as we all know your prices are always a bargain.

I agree with sir ramic and does anyone have any suggestions as to the best show to goto to look at tiling tools. I dont mind travelling and taking a day off if there is loads to see and to be able to compare too....
any suggestions ?????

I would drive up to Tradetiler then, I am sure Dave or one of the staff would let you drool over the tools.

Shame the show was not bigger and busier, but got a free T-shirt and bacon roll, missed the free beanie hat though, found the voucher in my pocket when i got home
Nice to meet Richard again and his lovely assistant, I think me buying a bathroom kit from the stand drew the crowd in better luck this week Richard Can't wait to see the pic of Steve posing
