    Default 20” Italian Porcelain Tile

Hi, I am having some problems cutting my tile. I have 20” Italian porcelain tile and I bought the type of tile cutter that scores the tile and snaps it. My problem is every time I cut the tile it chips at the end. Does anybody have some suggestions about this? Thanks. - Max

You could do with using a 'tile wet cutter', available from most DIY centres for one-off jobs they should be fine.

The cutter you are using is really just for ceramic tiles, maybe the odd porcelain glazed tile, but it sounds like your tile is fully vitrified porcelain which is much tougher and has no glaze to 'score and snap'.

    hi Madluke,
try buying a rubi TX700, the breaker is the full length of the cutter and will snap the thickest porc tile, better than the TS... and they will break upto 650mm length approx

Any name to this cutter? Is there any sort of adjustment screw on the splitter ( the part that splits the tile)
