I've heard a few speak highly of the clinker, sounds like a good budget cutter

As Joe ( Hillhead) says, if you want one to last you will have to up your price.
I have had the same Sigma for almost 9 years and still going strong...in fact its out done any other cutter by triple
Had i bought a cheap cutter i would have killed it within a year...of course this all depends on how many times you use it and what you cut.

For the price you want to pay I'd have to agree with the Big Clinker - I've got one on the van that I purchased when I needed a cutter that could cope with 600mm tiles. I still use it regularly and its going strong after more than 2 years use so now owes me nothing.

If you get trade discount at Topps I think they're going for a fair bit cheaper than a 100 quid...

ive never owned a big clinker as I bought rubi years ago and still using them

but ive never heard anyone regret buying one

they seem to be a good machine for the money

be wary of buying second hand from ebay as the heads can wear after a lot of use

the other problem being finding a s/h rubi for £100 a ts40 is okay as an additional machine but if its your only rail cutter you need a ts60 at least

visit a topps and look at the big clinker
I know nothing I havent learnt

    i disagree on this one,

if you pay that bit extra now and get a rubi, then you've got a cutter for years to come and if tiling isnt for you, then you can sell it on ebay for near as damn what you paid for it.....if you buy a big clinker, and try and sell it, it wont go for much..

pay that bit more, get a pro cutter upto 610mm and that will be the much wiser option in all possible scenarios...

best of luck with your choice....

Definately better buying a well looked after second hand top branded cutter than a cheap new one.

I've got a big clinker cutter, and provided you keep the nut fasteners tight and adjusted properly, you will get a nice clean straight cut. A good solid budget buy, and the tubes don't flex when you get a stubborn porcelain tile.
