Ruby TS-60 PLUS seperator blunt?
Hello everyone,
I'm new here just thought id ask the experts a question. I bought a ruby TS-60 plus and used it to cut some 60x60 hard porcelain tiles in half. After something like 20 tiles the separator bit on the bottom that snaps the tiles seems to have gone blunt and it wont break the tiles properly.
Cuts are no problem its the breaking thats the issue. It doesnt seem like one can buy that small piece on the bottom. It looks like the whole separator needs to be replaced. It has been suggested that I get something like the tip of an ultra hard masonry drill bit and get a welder to weld it on as a new breaker point which should last a lot longer.
Am I doing something wrong or are these separators made of cheap metal?
Thanks.

Try pulling the snapper faster and harder...whilst putting pressure with your spare hand on the both sides of the score line... they should break fine.. it is all in the technique..

It's not a spare needed.. just getting used to pressure and snapping technique with certain tiles.
The breaker point will last years , even if the new point looks to have lost it's point, it works fine.
