    Default Multimaster or Rotozip?

Toying with treating myself with a new power tool at Christmas. Out of the Fein and the Rotozip, which would be the better buy that I'd get most use out of? Would probably end up buying both in the long run but what would be the better machine for now?

They are both different usage machines...

But the fein would be used more for tiling IMHO....and the rotozip is great also as i have one but my fein will be used a lot more....just depends on what you use them for..?

It would do it but not very nicely or very fast for a hand held tool, great for architrave

Use Fein a little more than my 'zip.
The zip saved the day for me today so wouldn't want to be without either.
I'd get Fein first though as you don't miss what you have never had and the
fFein is more versatile and find myself using it for all sorts of things.

The Fein is a brilliant "Multitool". Fantastic for architrave and around door frames. Even better for grout removal with the riff blade. You may even want to consider the Bosch Cordless version (The GOP).

It really does depend on what you want to do. With the New X-Cores, The RotoZip is a must for hole cutting, especially for waste pipes etc. Around 1o seconds in the hardest porcelain tiles, dry. And the bigger sizes (25, 30 and 35mm) will do 100+ holes.

Up to you, but both are fantastic tools.

    hi Nick..

I have both the fein and the rotozip..

The rotozip comes into it's own for scribing and holes i find ...thats why i think you cannot compare it with the fein...as that does other jobs the rotozip doesn't...

So for those that want the rotozip then it is available from tradetiler as well...

    RotoZip®
    Now made by Bosch

The RotoZip Spiral Saw system offers maximum cutting efficiency to save time, effort and money on the job. RotoZip allows fast, easy and effective cutting in various materials. Whether cutting straight lines, perfect circles or free-hand
The RotoZip Spiral Saw can handle any possible direction or shape.

Combined with the unique diamond bit has bought new possibilities to tiling. Not only to normal wall and floor tiles but more importantly materials like:

    Porcelain (All)
    Marble
    Travertine
    Limestone
    Terracotta
    Granite
    etc

Now you can easily cut these materials round difficult shapes like the bottoms of toilets and basins with ease.

Avoid spending hundreds of pounds on big sets of diamond drills - Cut any size (or shape) you want with RotoZip

I've never seen any bits for it which would cut tiles, think it's mainly used for wood, metal, plastic, and grinding/sanding/polishing. That's not to say there aren't any bits though.....
