Was plying a floor today and My Bosch fecked up, was wondering what is the best drill/driver combo and how much ?

Check out your local B&Q or focus, they have some good drills and some have two years guarantee, so wear the bugger out in twenty three months then they give you a new one!!!

try screwfix direct. a 24v combi cordless drill with 2 batteries for £24.99 although in their catalog it's £34.99 on their website it's £24.99. I phoned them & mentioned it.

Use a Hitachi 18v combo drill,its the Mutts nuts.Its on special at Screwfix at the moment for just £75 bargain.

I've got a lovely dewalt, BUT, get yourself a chep wickes cordless for that work, save the good drill. Then, on the weekends bully the college stuants at wickes to give you a new drill, been doing that for years, only cost me 50 quid, several years ago as well............

This is my 14V Boshh and somebody nicked it from the Tile & Stone show (Thieving g**s)




So I replaced it with this Dewalt 14v at £170 with two batteries.



Yellow is the colour of construction and so I picked Dewalt mostly for the colour match to our drill plates. I was doing a lot of demos and finished some filming for the BBC for a show that will air in December 2007. I thought the yellow would look better.

But in hindsight for overall robustness I miss my old Boshh. It might be a bit dull looking but was a better drill.

My only upside is the stolen Boshh was coming to the end of its life (used every day for 5 years) and was almost knackered. It kept sticking. Whoever took that got something that I had flogged to death.

Or.......If you ply a lot...An autofeed cordless screwdriver. Best thing I have. Errr only when I'm plying mind

go for the new 36v lithiun ion battery models..they have no memory effect and will waltz through stone, with the right diamond bits of course???

ps how many holes should you get out of your drill bits, they look good and are very cheap, so there has to be a down side surely, you dont get nowt for nowt, even a fool like me knows thats..
