lash clips from tradetiler?
havent been on much in a while and was ordering some kit from tradetiler and noticed he has new stuff and was looking at those lash clips for lipage problems i know there is a debate about the use of these and other simular ideas has anyone tryed them and do they speed up the laying of tiles not a bad price seen other one that cost hundreds only £16 for a pack!

Re: lash clips from tradetiler?
Has anyone used the LASH clips yet? Do they compare well with the Tuscan Leveling System ones? Looking at the video, I was a little bothered by the amount of adhesive they might be leaving behind on the tile face - more especially if you are sticking stone down. Any thoughts?

Re: lash clips from tradetiler?
I've had a little look at the TradeTiler site, and to me, although they look like a good innovation, i can't help but think they are just gonna add time to the job.

Re: lash clips from tradetiler?
Was wondering if you pull a tile up would it leave a slight void underneath, whereas you would usually lift it and add more sticky. be interesting to see how people get on with them cos they look a good idea.

Re: lash clips from tradetiler?
It worries me for quick fixes for tiling, as mentioned the voids when pulling up a tile

Re: lash clips from tradetiler?
ive not really looked into this but with regard to voids,if your worried mark the potential voids and wet fill with wet addy ie pre grout prior to really grouting,ok it aint perfect but it fixes the void.

Re: lash clips from tradetiler?
we all seem worried about the voids i wouldnt advise it on a badly warped floor but surely if it reasonable flat a lash clip moving 1mm or 2mm to get level wouldnt make a lot of difference if you back butter and are using the right floor trowel some of the more experienced might disagree it just would be nice to get a floor perfectly level i do struggle on large floors and have ordered some from dave hope its not a waste of money !

Why doesn't someone ring Dave at TT for his take on them because he wouldn't have bought and stocked them if they were rubbish

Re: lash clips from tradetiler?
I think they could save a lot of time on something like large polished square-edged marble or similar. We all know that sometimes the tile may sink a little bit which means prising it up and resetting it, with these surely it can't sink after laying. I might just give 'em a go.

Re: lash clips from tradetiler?
They work quite well, have used them for quite some time now. If your doing a large floor though your fingers will get really really sore from pushing the wedges into the slots and pulling up tight. I would also like to see the legs that go under the tile be made straight, rather than having a slight radius which forces the tile to sit higher, then you add your wedge and apply pressure to force the legs straight. Breaking off the legs the next day after the glue has set is really easy.
