    Default replacing wheels

    All,

As a noob I was wondering how often you replace the diamond wheels on wet saws and the scoring wheels on tile cutters?

Without any experience how do you know when they need replacing?

Do you always keep spares, or just buy them when required?

    Cheers
    Johnners

They need replacing when they no longer do the job correctly.
Diamond wheels i keep spares for the grinder and wet cutter.
Cutting wheels for my Sigma i have spares too, rarely needed though.

When they wear out do they start chipping the tiles then and making an untidy cut?

i know im probably stating the obvious but ,a salesman for my old norton clipper gave me a tip once that proved to work, when the continuous diomond blade in the cutter started to underperform , take it out and reverse it in the machine then cut into a house brick for a while, this uncloggs the diamonds then put the blade back the right way round ,and this gives the cutter new life again hope this helps m8

Must be worth having one of these in your bag then, in case you are ever caught short. As you say it would get you through the job.

    Thanks
