My dad bought one of the new Bosch PMF 180E multi tools this morning and must say it is very impressive. Works the same as a Fein Multimaster but costs a dam sight less.
Anyone else got one?

nice looking tool.......dave..
I'm after a a fein, but if this'll do the same, ie undercutting, thanks for the tip.
But the fein has a grout removing disc you can get i cant see the bosch tool having one or am i wrong or what do you use to remove grout with it instead??

You can get the grout removal tools as well for the bosch.......

IMO It is not as good as the fein though! Having said I also believe that the De Walt range is not as good as Makita but its personal choice and pennies at the end of the day that count
Kev

I don't think it is as good as the fein.....but for £60 it is a good option.......
That is the DIY version.
Do they make it for their pro range?
Easy to tell the difference,
DIY- Green
Pro- Blue.

I don't think so james......

I have the bosch one and it does state actually that it is not intended for trade use....DIY only.....but mine has had some stick and is OK...but i will get a fein when it dies.......![]()
I have the fein, friend has the bosch, fein is much better in my opinion, I learnt a long time ago to buy quality over price, and like it's already been said, this is a DIY version, not sure how long it will last day to day use.

I don't know how many of you are aware but most of you out there using the Fein are using the DIY version!!! The Pro Fein is 10 times better but costs close to £400
Kev
Isn't that a bit like comparing a Rubi ND-200 to a Rubi DW-200? The Multimaster doesn't have the same capacity as the the SuperCut, given it's weaker motor, but I wouldn't call it DYI, due to the price class and quality, and that it still has good capacity![]()
i got one,it cuts wood, tile & you can sand with it, other accessories inc a metal cutter!
the best thing with it,it only vibrates so it wont take your hand off!!!
Does anyone have any data on the vibration level of the Bosch Multi Tool and the Fein Multimaster / Supercut, in numbers? I can't seem to find any. It should look something along the lines of "7.2m/sec2".

The Secret is the Oscillation
The MultiMaster doesn't rotate or orbit like other power tools. It oscillates. The head of the Multimaster oscillates at an angle of only 3.2° at up to 21,000 OPM. The Fein Multimaster is a variable speed fein oscillating tool that tackles countless tasks with an assortment of accessories

Thanks... The Bosch emits hand-arm vibration levels of between 5 and 10m/s2... The FEIN seems to do between 2.5 and 15m/s2, depending on what accessory and oscillation setting you use.
Here's the important bit. If a tool does around 5m/s2, you should 1) use protective gear such as vibro dampening gloves, and 2) not use the tool for more than 60 minutes a day.
At 10m/s2, you shouldn't use it for more than 30 minutes a day, and you should most definatly use protective gear.
At about 15/s2, you mustn't use the tool for any more than 10-15 minutes a day, and certainly not more than 30 minutes a day.
The reason why is this: Nerve damage can occur from exposure to excessive vibrations, particularly frequent excessive vibration. I read about a guy who used a jackhammer every day for about 5 years, without even gloves, and the nerves in his hands got so damaged, they felt like, and behaved like, gelatinous lumps. He couldn't even grab a pencil.
That's an extreme case, but if one's not careful, arthritis or loss of sensation is quite possible.
Here's something I found for you brits: Health and Safety Executive PDF on hand-arm vibrations
