Smile Fein Multimaster

Fein Multimaster to buy or not to buy? That is my question?

Ive heard very very good things about this multi tool but also heard some bad such as heavy vibrations and easy to chip tiles!

Im specifically looking for a tool for re grouts, floors mainly. Would the Dremel do?

Most people seem to avoid re grouts like the plague and that means a marketing opportunity and more work for me, well maybe.

Also hoping that 1 or 2 out of 10 would result in a re lay of a new floor anyway as tiles may come up or similar!!! Have you looked at shop floors, half of the ones I see have hardly any grout in em so wouldn’t be a hard days work really would it!!!!

So can anyone offer any advice goods or bad on either tool, the Multimaster or the Dremel with grout attachments? Or any other tool for that matter.

Nearly £100 for Dremel or £200 for the Fein, that’s the issue but then again 1 job would pay for it.

In anticipation of your feedback gentlemen, and ladies of course.

Andy

Never used the dremmel before (on tiles anyway) but my Multimaster (£164 from Tradetiler) has been a really useful tool. Even managed to trim the bottom of a door off insitu once, took a while but the hinges had 50 yrs of paint over them.

Fein's not too bad for using on floors. Have to be a bit careful on walls that you don't slip out of the joint and slide across the face of the tile = damaged tile. Thing to remember is to let the machine do the work.

If you're doing tiling then Fein is a must. Even if you use it just for trimming architrave and scraping you'll wonder how you managed without it.
