Question Trowel Selection

Alright all,
Would like some clarification / advice on what trowel sizes i should be using for each tiling scenario. I currently use thin bed solid bed for wet areas and a 6mm square notched for dry areas (walls).
Floor tiling i use thick bed solid bed as this was what i was told to use, surely there are times when another size trowel is suitable?
Any feed back would be greatly appreciated. thank you.

when tiling floors a solid bed trowel should be used at all times these vary in depth ...the deeper depth ones are better for the larger format tiles..and if you were laying say 6x6 type tiles on the floor then a less depth of solid bed trowel could be used........dave..

Not sure but think Tradetiler.co.uk might be the place to go.
